barefoot beach wedding
and party all night
From the couple
“Kate….thank you…THANK YOU! You absolutely SO perfectly captured our day. Jeff and I paused at every one and recollected the memories with the biggest smile on our faces. The collection as a whole is EXACTLY what we had in mind when we ventured out to find our wedding photographer. You are brilliant. We just loved working with you and having you be part of our special day. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Truly ❤️❤️❤️.”

Barefoot beach wedding
A wedding photographer’s dream! Anisha and Jeff had an intimate ceremony on ‘their’ beach. For some people El Pescador is a beach in Malibu. For this lovely couple, its their happy place. Jeff surfs while Anisha reads and dreams on the sand. It was only right that’s where they said ‘I do’.
Married by one of their best friends and surrounded by close family, we laughed and cried. I admit to a tear or two from behind my camera – it really was that emotional. As the sun set we had time for family photos, and the all-important champagne toast!

Party on
I drove my fastest through the winding Malibu hills, to arrive at the little restaurant just in time for the first dance. I LOVE the first dance. The ‘oh my gosh we’re married’ kicks in big time! In this case they were dance bombed by Amelia, Anisha’s adorable niece and flower girl extraordinaire. And then we partied!! If the images from this part of the day look a little chaotic, it was! I love photographing people, and these ones gave me so much photo gold I was in heaven.

Film Wedding Photos
As always, I’m so grateful to my couples for trusting in the ‘non wedding, wedding photographer’ process. Part of that magic is capturing the day on analogue film, for a bit of instant nostalgia and a bit of anarchy. I used a variety of 35mm and medium format cameras, but my personal favourites are from the 1959 Yashica.
Film used:
Kodak Portra 800 | Kodak Portra 400 | Kodak TMax 400 | Ilford HP5 400
