BRAD and MITCH

London Pub Wedding on 35mm

London Pub Wedding on 35mm and medium format film.

From the couple

THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

The photos are INCREDIBLE.

They capture the day in the most beautiful way. We couldn’t be happier.

You’re absolutely incredible and the photos of the day (and night!) are more than we could have asked for.

Thank you so so much Kate, you’re an absolute rockstar!

Walthamstow Town Hall

I met Brad, Mitch and their families at the Nag’s Head first before we headed to the town hall. Imagine my delight that not only was the pub owned by a cat lover, but Mitch’s family are also from Essex! It was brilliant to hear the accent all day, especially after being away so long in America! Also check out Brad’s shoes – he wore Birkenstocks all day and my gosh they looked comfy.

We had a short walk to Walthamstow Town Hall, when the grooms shared with me that they liked the hall not only for the architecture, but also the fact its usually quiet. Famous last words! When we arrived, it looked like ALL the children in north east London had got the memo. Bouncy castles, Paw Patrol, a million kids in the fountains with a drum and bass soundtrack. I love London.

The Birds, Leytonstone

After the ceremony we headed to The Birds in Leystone. A Hitchcock London pub, and the perfect place for a wedding. There, Brad and Mitch had the most beautiful ceremony. The registrar passed the rings round all the guests to be loved and blessed, before finding their forever homes on my grooms’ fingers. Its not something I see often, and it was a glorious addition to an already emotional ceremony.

We danced and laughed the night away, as the sun set through the windows and the band played on. Congratulations Brad and Mitch – new friends.

Film Wedding Photos

As always, I’m so grateful to my couples for trusting in the ‘non wedding, wedding photographer’ process. Part of that magic is capturing the day on analogue film, for a bit of instant nostalgia and a bit of anarchy. I used a variety of 35mm and medium format cameras, but my personal favourites from the day are on my Pentax 35mm. My brother gave it to me when I was 17 and I love lifting it to my face.

Film used:

Kodak Portra 800 | Kodak Portra 400 | Kodak Gold 200 | Kodak Ultramax 400 | Ilford HP5 400
